(TPED) Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive - 2010/35/EU applies to manufacturers, authorised representatives, importers, distributors, operators and owners of certain types of transportable pressure equipment used for the transport of dangerous goods by road, rail and inland waterway.

Transportable pressure equipment is required to bear the Pi(π) marking to indicate compliance with the directive.

The TPED applies to:

  • cylinders
  • bundles of cylinders
  • tubes
  • pressure drums
  • cryogenic receptacles

It also covers tanks used for ADR (International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) Class 2 gases, for example:

  • demountable tanks
  • tank containers
  • tanks of tank vehicles
  • tanks of tank wagons
  • tanks of battery wagons and MEGCs (Multiple Element Gas Containers)

We at TCMS in alliance with Notified Body, Technická inšpekcia, can perform the following activities in accordance with the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Goods by Rail / Rail (ADR / RID).

  1. Type approval
  2. Periodic and intermediate inspections
  3. Extraordinary inspections
